SouthWest welcomes Welsh judoka ahead of Mandurah Oceania Open

SouthWest Judo Academy welcomed athletes from the Welsh Judo Association for an impromptu training visit on Wednesday, 29 April, ahead of the 2026 Mandurah Oceania Open.

The visiting judoka joined our members on the mat as they prepared to represent Great Britain at the weekend’s competition. It was a welcome opportunity for our athletes to train alongside international visitors and share a session before the event.

Thank you to the Welsh team for coming down to SouthWest. We wish them the best of luck for the competition.

After class, our members continued preparations for the event by helping pack mats into Judo WA’s sea container, ready for transport to the competition venue.

Moving and loading mats is a substantial job, and we are grateful to everyone who stayed back to lend a hand. Their efforts helped support Judo WA and the delivery of a major international competition here in Western Australia.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, both on the mat and behind the scenes.
