The 2026 WA Futures Camp is here — and this year we’re excited to welcome outstanding special guest coaches to Western Australia!
🇦🇺 Nathan Katz – 2x Olympian
Nathan represented Australia at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and brings a wealth of international competition experience to the camp.
🇯🇵 Aki Kuroda – Junior World Champion
Aki is one of Japan’s exciting young judoka and an IJF Junior World Champion, giving our WA athletes a fantastic opportunity to train with and learn from a world-class international athlete.
The WA Futures Camp is a three-day overnight development camp designed to challenge, connect and inspire the next generation of WA judoka through quality training, education, activities and exposure to the high-performance pathway.

📍 Ern Halliday Recreation Camp, Hillarys
👥 Ages 13–20 — born between 2006 and 2013
🥋 Minimum Orange Belt
💰 $250 per participant, including accommodation and meals
🧭 The camp will include:
✅ Comprehensive judo training sessions
✅ Sessions with Nathan Katz and Aki Kuroda
✅ Fun activities and games to develop physical capabilities
✅ Education on transitioning from junior to cadet competition, goal setting and more
✅ Interaction with accomplished athletes
✅ Insight into the high-performance pathway
✅ Accommodation, meals and full camp experience
